On the 18th of March,  Secondary  4a ,4b and Secondary 5 students had an amazing race which was organised by the AAM mentors. We were told to gather at Madrasah Aljunied at 9am but some of the students were late. After we reached the school, we registered  and were distributed into groups. Our group's name is FIRAUZU.

Around 9:30am, we gathered at the courtyard in groups and were given some rules such as DO NOT JAY WALK.. xP and told us what is the winning reward . The first place will be awarded a $100 Seoul garden voucher and the second place will be awarded a $50 swensen voucher.

Our group consist of ten students and two facilitators.

At 9:45am,all of the students rushed to the canteen which is the first station of the race.
Mohsen, one of our team members were chosen to pick some  letters and also to answer some questions. It took approximately 20 minutes  to complete the first station and our team was the second last team to finished  it.

After that,we headed for the second station which is  located at the Fort Canning Park. We took the public transport to reach  there. It tooks approximately 20 minutes to arrive  there. When we alighted from the bus, we run as fast as a cheetah as  we were quite far from the other teams. We were told to measure three things but unfortunately we manage to find two only, which is the fountain and the flagpole. The whole process took us around 30 minutes. We did not managed to finish it within the allocated time, which is 20 minutes. So, we were given a penalty of ten minutes.

We were the second last team again to complete the challenge :(
But with the motivations of our caring mentors, we did not give up !

It was a very hot day,we sweated all the time while running. But our heart unite us as one after knowing that we were catching up with others..

The translation was quite easy, but there were particular  words that we never heard of it before. So, some of our team members that brought along their smartphones, search certain information on google to complete our translation task.

The next clue that was given to us is The Coin Museum.
Some of us thought that it  was very far.But after crossing the main road,we saw other teams gathering nearby a shop.Fortunately it was the coin museum.

We were shock that it is located between shophouses. There were many ancient old used coins. They emphasis on pre-and post-independence of Singapore, and it showed how foreign coins and notes used, here in singapore, eventually gave way to singapore currency in early nation building days.

There were some mentors explaining how coin were made in this era by just using a machine.

We left the coin museum after receiving  our next station, that is located nearby Raffles MRT station.
Some of the other teams rode the MRT too.It took a very long time to reach  Raffles station from Chinatown station. We had to make a transit at the interchange. But for our team,we followed our mate Khairul Wildaan. He guided us by following a shortcut walk to the area.

Fortunately we arrived safely, but there were a few teams that arrived before us.

It was the second last station, the challenge was to solve  the world map and to name some country's history. We sat down and solve it wisely. While other teams are  making their moves to reached there,we managed to complete the ask given within seven minutes.

Finally, reaching the last pit stop,we were the first team to check in and check out.It was a joyful moment for us as a team to finished it first .It was located nearby the Esplanade.

The last challenge was to work out names of a few people with the given clues.

Lastly after completing the challenge,we were informed that our team was the first team  to safely return to our starting point which is our beloved Madrasah. We enjoyed this AAMazing race and hoped that AAM mentors  would conduct such activities or camps in the future.I believe that all of us enjoyed ourselves and benefited a lot of lessons and gained a memorable experience from this successful race.I would like to take this opportunity to thank the conductors, organizers  and AAM Mentors for this wonderful race.Thank you very much.

bye bye!
